Annie Duke might not have attained her first WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but Annie is still one of the most powerful poker players around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While competitors from the "young crowd" of poker run wild following a huge success at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mommy" to her four children. She hails from NH and grew up in a family of poker players. If you don’t believe that, observe her brother, Howard Lederer, in action, who taught Annie how to play poker.
However, Annie Duke is not a small-potatoes girl and has captured her share of difficult games, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions.
Earning over $3 million in tournament play, Annie became a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to develop his skills to become a power player in poker.
You might notice her at the Bellagio, you will catch her on the tv and you might just even play with her in an online poker match, but don’t bank on an easy win. Unless you’re a up and coming master, you won’t defeat her. However, it would be cool to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
