Web poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years several types on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or other types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the dealer announcing "No more bets." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the bank’s first card, you need to either make a call bet or bow out. The call bet’s value is akin to your original ante, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantly to the dealer. After the bet is the showdown. If the bank does not have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, plus an amount on par with the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The casino pays chips even with your wager and fixed expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
