Web poker has become world famous as of late, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its television scores. Over the years numerous variations on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to twenty-one than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino instead of each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no conniving or other types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer saying "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the different gamblers are given five cards. After you have observed your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you have to in turn make a call bet or surrender. The call wager’s value is akin to your original ante, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your wager goes immediately to the bank. After the wager comes the face off. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, with an amount in accordance with the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The bank pays out chips equal to your wager and set expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
