Online poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variations on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the croupier broadcasting "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers are given 5 cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the bank’s initial card, you must either make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s value is equal to your original ante, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantly to the dealer. After the bet comes the showdown. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, with a sum in accordance with the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The casino pays money equal to your bet and set expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
