Web poker has become world celebrated as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years many variants on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to blackjack than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the dealer instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no conniving or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the croupier saying "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the house and of course every one of the different gamblers are given five cards. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s amount is akin to your original wager, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes directly to the bank. After the bet is the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, with a sum in accordance with the initial bet. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays out chips even with your original bet and fixed odds on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
